The member of a sniper team that usually finds the target and calculates wind speed, distance, and other factors in order to advise the sniper on how to adjust his aim. Once the shot is taken, the spotter watches the travel pattern of the shot and advises the sniper on how to adjust his aim and position in the event that the shot misses the target.
